While I am certain that the down-turning economy played at least some role, I think that a new ad-system by Google may have also been responsible.

9 months ago. I was searching to make some content websites on niche thinking that this will bring me a lot of money. I thinked better and i said. Wait a minute, there is no way to make serious money from this, i need a business approach, where products are sold or developed, or people are macking money from my services.

I am very good at seo, and have some friends good at design and web development. I said, this is the way to make some serious money.

Next day i made the website, got a domain and put this online. Made my usual seo promotion, spent about $20 and made some moves i know were good to drive traffic to my website ( i will not tell you this ).

In the frist month i have’d my first order of $480. Nice i covered my work and the $20, with a profit of 50% after i paid the design and development. I spent all that money on some promotion, and invested another $300 after i saw that there are some fish in the sea to catch.

I refused a lot of projects and got only the high paying ones to save the work and to make some quality. I made about $4000 in the next 4 months.

At this moment i am making about $10-15,000/month only from this with a profit from 40 to 50%.

So what i want to tell here is that advertising will not pay as much as a service or a product. Be smart, work smart and you will make that cash.

Most of my customers who come to me for the first time say “i want to beat my competition, i want to be #1″.

Let’s see if you are prepared to be top 10, and after this we will see if you can be #1. Most of the people don’t afford this, they are like you or like others wanting to touch the sky with a paper plane.

This didn’t happen in the past, will not happen now or in the future. There it’s the world of the guys with money and power and if you are not prepared to spend you will not be at that table.

What i suggest is to promote your websites more on Yahoo and MSN. Visitors coming from these SE’s are not so familiar with Google Ads, so they are more predicted to click on the ads.

What i noticed is that, if your ads are placed good and you are receiving a large number of visitors from these SE’s, 40-50% of them will click on the ads.

Starting a new website is a challenge. There are so many websites at this moment on web, and most of them are the same, presenting the same things, nothing new all the time.

Coming with a new idea is the best way to have success at this moment on the internet. But finding a unique idea is the hardest way.

So how you can come with a new idea and profit from it?

The best way is to search what sites are at this moment on the internet and to come with an extension to what they offer. Come with something that they do not have and you think the users will love. Make a product or a service that will add value to another service.

Don’t copy other websites that you think are verry profitable to run, because if you don’t have the experience or the money to spend you will fail.

You can find all over the internet people from different countries, some of them knowing nothing about internet marketing and search engine marketing, promising the moon from the sky at low prices or on short term.

For example some so called “experts” are offering 500 directory submissions for $20. Take one minute and think about it. You will do this work for $20? In what case you will do this for $20? From my experience this happens when, you lost links, you copy content, or violate some Google tos. Well i didn’t done anything from this.
